米Googleが、ソーシャルサービス「Google+」の一般公開に向けて、同社のブログサービス「Blogger」と写真共有サービス「Picasa」のブランドを変更する――。米ブログメディアのMashableが7月5日(現地時間)、スクープとして報じた。Googleはこの件に関するコメントを拒否した。 Mashableによると、GoogleはBloggerを「Google Blogs」に、Picasaを「Google Photos」に改称しようとしている。GoogleはBloggerを2003年に、Picasaを2004年に買収した。Googleは「Google」を冠していない他のブランドの改称も計画しているという。ただし、Mashableにこの件を伝えた情報筋によれば、「YouTube」はその計画に含まれない。 この情報筋は、ブランド変更は「1カ月~1カ月半以内」に実施されるとしている。M
