西友は25日、英国産ビール「ASDA エクストラ・スペシャル」セレクションの第1弾として、「ゴールデンエール」を販売する。英国最古の醸造所で製造されたビール・コレクション同セレクションは、1698年創設の英国最古の醸造所であるシェファード・ニームで製造。1998年以来、ウォルマート傘下の英国スーパーマーケット「ASDA(アズダ)」で販売されており、今回ウォルマートの独自調達網を活用して直輸入したもの。醸造にオーク樽と地下深くの井戸水を使用することで、すっきりと切れ味の良い独特の味わいが生まれたという。また、醸造所に代々伝わる酵母により、果実味のあるフルーティな香りのビールに仕上がる。最高級のモルトとさまざまな特選ホップを用い、特別な製法で造るビールはまさに、"極上(エクストラ・スペシャル)"とのこと。同商品は、麦芽と花のような香りのホップがバランスよく融合。ドライですっきりとしたか
