以前、AmazonのKindle国際版を買ったという話をしましたが、先日、ソフトウェアアップデートがあり、PDFの表示が可能になりました。 今までは米Amazonから洋書を買う事しかできず、日本語の本を買う事はおろか、改造しないと日本語を表示させる事すらできなかったのですが、びっくりするくらいあっさりと日本語を表示できるようになりました。 さっそく、青空文庫から適当に数冊落とし、PDFに変換、KindleをUSBでMacと繋いでドラッグ&ドロップで転送。 無事表示できました。文字の大きさも問題なしです。 今まで、洋書を数冊買って試してみたのですが、英語が読めないのであまり感動はなく『ふーん』という感じだったのですが、日本語の小説が紙の本と同じように普通に読めるのは、とてもいいです。なんと言っても場所をとらない。どれだけ本を買っても本棚を圧迫しない。読みたい本がいつでも手元にある。 日本でも
