Election maps
Election results by state Most of us are, by now, familiar with the maps the TV channels and web sites use to show the results of presidential elections. Here is a typical map of the results of the 2012 election: The states are colored red or blue to indicate whether a majority of their voters voted for the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, or the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama, respectively.

国民審査の判事の名簿順に先頭の判事に突出して多くの×印の不信任票が投ぜられ、それから後順位になるにしたがって斬減していくということが、過去四十年間繰り返されていました。 今回は、このパターンとは異なって、名簿の中ほどに位置する （9人の判事のリストの中、3番目〈涌井判事〉、6番目〈那須判事〉に位置する）、涌井判事と那須判事が、二つの山を作っています。 金築判事の×印の対全有効投票の比率と涌井判事の×印の対全有効投票の比率との差は、それぞれ、東京で、全有効投票数（6,699,766票）の2.8％（2.81%＝11.26%－8.45%） 、即ち、187,901票、全国で、全有効投票数（66,939,295票）の1.29％ （1.29%＝7.73%－6.44%） 、即ち、864,397票です。
