go build を使わずにGoのプログラムをビルドすることはできるのでしょうか。 結論から言うとできます。 シェルスクリプトで go buildを自作してみたら、2週間ほどでkubectl[1]がビルドできるところまでいけました。 kubectl , uber-go/zap, spf13/cobra, golang/protobuf など有名どころのモジュールをビルドできる クロスコンパイルをサポート(下記4通り。CPUは amd64 ) Mac → Mac Mac → Linux Linux → Mac Linux → Linux ちなみに自作Goコンパイラ babygo と自作アセンブラ goas をこの自作ビルダでビルドしてみたら成功しました。なかなか感慨深いものがあります。 ビルド速度が遅かったり[2]キャッシュの扱いが雑なので実用性はないですが、学習用素材としての価値はあると思

Twitterで "green thread" という単語をたまたま見かけたので、知っていることをつぶやいたよ。 Green thread 言語のスレッドとOSのスレッドの関係 N:1 mapping 言語のスレッドの全てがひとつのOSのスレッドの上で実行されるもの。その代表が上記のJavaのgreen thread。 OSのシステムコールを呼ぶときには必ずnonblockingモードを使い、EAGAIN または EWOULDBLOCKが返ってきたときには他のスレッドの実行権に譲るようにする必要がある。うっかりシステムコールでブロックされてしまうと、全部のスレッドが巻き添えになって動けなくなる。 スレッドの生成やコンテキストの切り替えは軽い。しかし、マルチコアを生かすことができないため、シングルコアの環境でのみ使用される。 1:1 mapping OSのスレッドと言語のスレッドが1対1対応

前回の記事Go言語のcomparableには3つの意味があるにおいて、Go1.19までの言語仕様のcomparableと型制約のcomparableは指す範囲が異なるということを説明しました。たとえば、any型はGo1.19言語仕様上comparableですが、comparable型制約を満たしていませんでした。 このギャップをなくすProposalがacceptされそうです。今回はその内容を説明します。 追記 2023/02/23 このProposalは採用されて、Go1.20で実装されました。この記事の内容は基本的にGo1.20の言語仕様において正しいです。一部、言語仕様書が更新される前に記述した部分があるので仕様の用語をちゃんと使えてない部分があります。 言語仕様としての理屈にそれほど関心がない読者の人は要約だけ読めば十分だと思います。 要約 unionsをふくまないinterfac
