米Xeroxは，紙に印刷した画像が24時間以内に消える印刷技術「erasable paper」（消去可能な紙）を開発した。Xeroxが米国とカナダで現地時間11月27日に明らかにした。画像が消えた紙は，繰り返し印刷に利用できる。 erasable paperは，特定の波長の光を当てると色が現れ，その状態で放置しておくと色が消える化合物を利用する。特定の波長の光を紙に照射する専用のプリンタを使い，この化合物で特殊な紙に印刷すると，印刷画像が目に見えるようになる。 現時点では，紙面の画像は16～24時間放置すれば消える。また，加熱するとすぐに消える。 Xeroxの調査によると，オフィスで印刷される紙のうち5ページに2ページの割合で，電子メールやWebページ，簡単な文書など1回読むだけの目的で印刷され，1日以内に捨てられてしまうという。erasable paperが実用化すれば，「紙の使用量を大
