「VAIO」と「Mac」
VAIO Z 15周年記念限定カラーモデルの背面。「15th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTOR'S EDITION」の後に、VAIOノートの生産拠点である「MADE IN AZUMINO, JAPAN」の文字が刻印されている 今週PC業界を騒がせた話題といえば、やはりソニーのPC事業、「VAIO」売却でしょう。ソニー製ノートPCの天板に光るルミナスミラーロゴには、今現在もVAIOが特別な製品なのだと思わせるだけのブランド力があります。ソニーファンでなくても、今回のPC事業譲渡にショックを受けた人は多かったかもしれません。 さて、アップル連載らしくMacにまつわるVAIOの話をすると、Macworld Expo 2008の基調講演で、スティーブ・ジョブズが初代MacBook Airを発表した際、その比較に「VAIO TZ」を引き合いに出したことを覚えている方もいるでしょう。本田雅一
