Pythonの生みの親、グイド・ヴァンロッサム氏、「引退は退屈」とMicrosoft入り
Pythonの生みの親であるグイド・ヴァンロッサム氏（64）が、米Microsoftに入社すると自身のTwitterアカウントで発表した。 「引退するのは退屈だと判断し、Microsoftの開発部門に参加した。何をするために？ やりたいことはたくさんある！ Pythonの使い勝手が改善されることは確かだ（Windows版だけじゃなくね）。Microsoftは多数のオープンソースプロジェクトを擁している」（意訳） 同氏は昨年11月、当時勤めていた米Dropboxを退社し、引退を表明した。約1年たち、引退は退屈だと判断したということのようだ。 ヴァンロッサム氏はMicrosoft傘下のLinkedInでも、既に履歴にMicrosoftを追加している。肩書はMicrosoftのエンジニアとしては最高位の「Distinguished Engineer」だ。
