Assuming this would focus more on Rust, I did not expect the ending discussion on Lua. Finally, one of the key things that we found was that a lot of projects used C/C++ out of inertia. They don’t have peak memory or sub-millisecond-latency constraints and could easily be written in a managed language, often even in an interpreted one. We have Lua in the base system.
