高並列処理技術を導入した車載向け画像認識用並列プロセッサの発売について 〜トヨタ自動車株式会社が採用〜 ＮＥＣエレクトロニクス株式会社(以下ＮＥＣエレクトロニクス)および日本電気株式会社（以下ＮＥＣ）は、トヨタ自動車株式会社(以下トヨタ）および株式会社デンソー(以下デンソー)の協力を得て、車載向け画像認識用並列プロセッサを製品化し、「IMAPCAR®」(アイマップカー；注1)の名称で本日よりサンプル出荷を開始いたしました。 「IMAPCAR®」の主な特長は、(1)128個の演算ユニットで並列処理を行うことにより、現在市場で販売されている画像認識LSIに比べて約5倍高性能な100GOPS(1GOPSは毎秒10億回の演算を実行)を実現でき、白線、先行車、歩行者などの画像をリアルタイムに認識できること、(2)画像認識機能の全てをソフトウェアで構成したことにより、機能の追加や変更を容易
