以前ゲイツ財団について書いたときに、トラックバックからチャック・フィーニーのことを知り、翻訳される前に訳者の書評を読んで非常に気になっていたのがこの本。 無一文の億万長者 (単行本) 期待通り非常に面白かった。免税店DFSの事業の成功で巨額の富を築いた人、チャック・フィーニー。そんなふうにビジネスで成功した人は、けっこうたくさんいるんだろうけど、この人は、この儲けたお金の大半を大学等、様々なところに匿名で寄付する。徹底的に匿名を貫く。でも規模が大きすぎて公然の秘密となってきたので、全部バラして本が出たみたい。 この人は、目の付け所が明らかに違うという印象を受けた。そして圧倒的にスピードが速く、やることは徹底している。ハワイの免税店のところは特に面白かった。どんどん入ってくる日本人観光客を一手に引き受けようという凄まじい意志が伝わってくる。そんな感じで事業が得意で、本人も好んでいろいろやって
