「物を見るときの光が重要なので、窓はすべて北向き。直射日光が差さないようになっているんです」 アトリエに着くなりすこし高めの元気な声で説明してくれた。インタビューに訪れた天井が高いアトリエは、4人で使っているそうだ。 卒展に向け製作中の作品が台の上にある。いやでも目立つ。実物の人体よりかなり大きめの全裸の男性が、しゃがみ込むように体を丸めている像なのだ。 「作り始めたのは、心棒に粘土をつけ始めたのが6月末くらい」 というその像は、立ち上がったら、身長が3メートルくらいにはなりそうな大きさである。像の前方が高く斜めになった台座に乗っているため、背中が強調されている。 「後ろが正面なんです」というのもうなずける。だが、普通の後ろ姿ではない。特徴的なのが、その姿が歪んでいること。 背中側の正面あたりから見ると普通の像に見えるのだが、少し横に移動してみると何やら違和感を感じる。そのまま、像の周りを
