Constant Dullaart released a new Google website called thecensoredinternet.com. Of course it does just exactly that what it says, censoring the Google results. You might also enjoy his other Google websites like therevolvinginternet.com, thedisagreeinginternet.com, thedoubtinginternet.com, thesleepinginternet.com and an other new one internetspread.com. By the way, if you’re in Berlin this Thursd
Clement Valla asked 500 Amazon’s Mechanical Turk users to trace a line. The first user started with a straight line, the next user had to trace the previous user’s trace. I guess it’s no surprise that the last trace doesn’t remind you about the initial straight line. The result is “A Sequence of Lines Consecutively Traced by Five Hundred Individuals”. The cool thing about this is the fact that Cle
This is the most awesome 450 page presentation you’ve ever seen. It took 3 animators 3 days to make this 450 frames animation in Google Docs. The cool thing about it? They were all in different location but could still edit the same document online at the same time. Plus, it super easy to share it afterwards. So go to http://goo.gl/6MJwH, let it load (it’s quite heavy) and then click through it. O
Today I finally went to see Olafur Eliasson his exhibtion called “Innen Stadt Aussen“. I loved it. There were only 19 pieces in the show but it’s totally worth it. One of them was “Round Rainbow” – all the way. You can still go and see it till August 9th at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. Meara O’Reilly can sing salt patterns. Euh what? By singing certain tones, she can create resonant patterns with salt scattered on an Chladni plate. I know this sounds weird, in both ways, but watch the video to see the patterns shift from one into another. found at booooooom! 3 Responses to “Chladni Singing” XimeR Says: May 20th, 2010 at 12:55 pm Awesome, love the figures! Auto Smiley is the latest F.A.T. project by Theo Watson. It’s a little app that runs in the background while you work. It analyzes your face and each time it detects a smiley, it adds a smiley :) to the front most application. Theo used openFrameworks and MPT for the smile detection. Of course you can download the app and the sources here (I actually had to change some values in the source code so
Overpainted Photographs by Gerhard Richter is an ongoing series where he overpaints his own snapshots. I’ve posted some before, but I still like them. Temporary.cc is the latest project of Zach Gage. In short, it’s a website that deletes itself. For each unique visitor it receives, Temporary.cc deletes part of itself. These deletions change the way browsers understand the website’s code and create a unique (de)generative piece after each new user. Because each unique visit produces a new composition through self-destruction, Temporary.cc can nev
