DOP（dilution of precision：精度低下率）には、PDOP（位置精度低下率）、HDOP（水平精度低下率）、VDOP（垂直精度低下率）があります。単に「DOP」とだけヘッダに表示されている場合もありますが、このうちのどれかの値のはずなので、それは受信機のメーカーに確認して下さい。数値が小さいほど、その測位結果の精度が高いという意味になります。 初期のDOPの算出方法は、上空にどれだけたくさん衛星が見えていても、その中で「線で結んでいちばん大きな四角形になる配置にある利用可能な4つの衛星」だけを選んで、その4点と受信機を結んだ四角錐から計算してたそうです。今は上空の全衛星から算出される方式になったので、A君のような悲しいぼっちは生まれません。 GPS（GNSS）の詳細データを初めて見た時に、多分「…DOPって…何…？」と思う人が結構な割合でいるのではないかと思います。私も、
