With Clarkdale/Arrandale, Intel improved integrated graphics by a large enough margin that I can honestly say we were impressed with what Intel had done. That being said, the performance of Intel's HD Graphics was honestly not enough. Sandy Bridge 第一世代 と 第二世代 ～ 3DCG-CPU考察
当初、後発の LGA1156（H） の互換性は維持されると見られていましたが、実際には互換性はなく、換装で Sandy Bridge 世代のCPUにアップグレード出来ません。本稿でお勧めしたCore i7 8xx （Lynnfield） に該当するのが Core i7 2600番台になります。 この Sandy Bridge が持つGPUは、OpenGL アプリケーションを前提としたものではなく、3DCG制作には適さない無駄の多いCPUとなります。多くの3DCGソフトベンダーは SandyBridge のGPUはサポート外としています。 ターゲット 従来のグラフィックス統合チップセットの性能の底上げを図った Windows VISTA/7 のAero インターフェイスのための CPUとなります。このタイプは主にノートパソコンや低価格PCで採用される 3DCG制作には適さないタイプのPCです
