I have an array of objects, let's call it an Indicator. I want to run Indicator class methods (those of the def self.subjects variety, scopes, etc) on this array. The only way I know to run class methods on a group of objects is to have them be an ActiveRecord::Relation. So I end up resorting to adding a to_indicators method to Array. def to_indicators # TODO: Make this less terrible. Indicator.wh
I need to query comments made in one day. The field is part of the standard timestamps, is created_at. The selected date is coming from a date_select. How can I use ActiveRecord to do that? I need something like: "SELECT * FROM comments WHERE created_at BETWEEN '2010-02-03 00:00:00' AND '2010-02-03 23:59:59'"
For example, I'm using "Bonus" as my model, so I'd expect "bonuses" to be the plural form and "bonus" to be the singular form. Is there a way to correct that in Ruby on Rails s

I recently upgrade to the 10.10 Yosemite beta, but I'm having trouble getting Nokogiri installed. I'm using RVM and Ruby 1.9.3. I've also followed the steps here and tried following the instructions on Nokogiri's homepage. I've installed libxml2 (2.9.1) and libxslt (1.1.28) via homebrew, and have tried using the command line tools from both my Xcode 5 install and Xcode 6 beta. gem install nokogiri

Rails 6 Rails 6 added an upsert and upsert_all methods that deliver this functionality. Model.upsert(column_name: value) [upsert] It does not instantiate any models nor does it trigger Active Record callbacks or validations.
