Check out the highlights 💥 for the latest episode of the Path to Citus Con podcast, about monitoring Postgres!
Wouldn’t it be great if you could run SQL queries on your data in DynamoDB? While this isn’t possible directly, there is an alternative: With Podyn, you can automatically replicate the schema, data, and changes in your DynamoDB tables to Postgres. Once your data is flowing into Postgres, you can start using a wide array of features including views, indexes, rollup tables, and advanced SQL queries.

Pg_paxos offers a master-less (or multi-master, if you prefer) layer that can be enabled directly in the database without the need for external tools or transaction managers. The defining feature of pg_paxos is that r
POSETTE 2024 is a wrap! 💯 Thanks for joining the fun! Missed it? Watch all 42 talks online 🍿 PostgreSQL is one of the most popular open-source databases thanks to its reliability and advanced feature set. At Citus Data, we scale out PostgreSQL across many machines to enable queries over large datasets. We are often asked how CitusDB performance compares to Hadoop-based SQL engines that also scal
pg_shard continues to gain momentum as a straightforward sharding extension for PostgreSQL. We’re ecstatic each time we hear about a new deployment and are always considering what’s next. We’ve been hard at work addressing some of those customer needs and have released a new version of pg_shard this week with our latest efforts. The changes in this release include: Full CitusDB integration — Distr
One of the ideas we wanted to explore more has been speeding up in-memory aggregations in PostgreSQL through vectorized execution. The opportunity to do so came up when we had our intern, Can, take this on as a project during his summer internship. The early numbers he has there are promising - suggesting a 3-4x increase in PostgreSQL performance for simple SELECT queries with sum/count/group by o
We are excited to open source our columnar store extension for PostgreSQL, cstore_fdw and share it with the community! Columnar stores bring notable benefits for analytic workloads, where data is loaded in batches. This columnar store extension uses the Optimized Row Columnar (ORC) format for its data layout. ORC improves upon the RCFile format developed at Facebook, and brings the following benef
