NVIDIAは、同社エンジニアであるRobert Bondさんが人工知能（AI）を活用し、ネコを追い払う装置を製作したと同社の公式Blogで公表した。 同Blogによれば、Bondさんの奥さんはガーデニングが好きで、自宅の庭に常に手を入れ、美しく清潔に保つよう心がけているという。だが奥さんは、その庭にやってきてフンをするネコに悩まされていたそうだ。 これに対処するため、Bondさんは、ネコを発見したら自動的に庭のスプリンクラーを起動して水をまき、水が嫌いな（？）ネコを追い払うシステムを構築した。利用したのはネットワークカメラFoscam FI9800Pと組み込みシステム開発用ボードNVIDIA Jetson TX1。これらによって開発されたシステムは、ネコを傷つけずに庭を守れるだけでなく、Amazon.comで購入できるデバイスで誰でも構築可能な、安価で維持し易いシステムとなった。
