FreeCADで、3D-CADモデリングを始める
3D-CADは、コンピュータで、立体を表すデータを作成するアプリケーションです。工業製品など、きっちりとした値が必要なモデルを作成する場合に利用されます。 一方、3D-CGツールは、映像や画像を作成するために使用されます。見た目重視で、きっちりとした寸法は、要求されません。レンダリングや立体の表面の質感を表現するスキン、雲や水や髪の毛の表現など、映像を作成するための機能が用意されています。 目的に合ったツールを選択する必要があります。 3D-CADは、使用者に技能を要求するアプリケーションです。グラフィックソフトで画像を作成する場合、使用者に絵が描けるスキルを要求するように、3D-CADでモデリングする際も使用者に技能を要求します。 全く使えない状態から始めると、使いこなせるまでに時間がかかりますが、商業的に使用されている3D-CADは、どれもが高額です。使わなければ、使える用にならないた

アセンブリ機能は、3D-CADを使う目的の一つです。 複数の部品を組み立てる際に、寸法や形状の間違いで、実際には組み立てることができずに、部品を作り直したり、修正したり、違う部品に交換することは、注意していても起こります。 パソコンの中で、部品を組み立てることで、実際に部品を作成する前に部品の寸法や形状の不備に気がつくことができます。 3D-CADの中で、それを実現するのがアセンブリ機能です。 その結果、部品の作り直しや修正の回数を減らすことで、コスト削減と作業速度を向上させることができます。製作部門に、「間違えたから、もう一度作って」や「組み立てられないから形状を修正して」という依頼も減らすことができます。 FreeCADでは、アセンブリ機能が利用できます。しかし、アセンブリ機能は、FreeCADの標準機能ではないので、自分で登録する必要があります。 FreeCAD v0.17.9940
