米Mozilla Foundationは27日（現地時間）、メールソフト「Thunderbird」にスケジュール管理機能を追加できる拡張機能「Lightning」v0.5を公開した。本バージョンより、Webカレンダーサービス“Google カレンダー”とデータを同期できるようになっている。また、単体で動作するスケジューラー「Sunbird」もv0.5へバージョンアップし、同じくGoogle カレンダーとの同期に対応した。 Google カレンダーとの同期機能を利用するには、まずGoogle カレンダー上の管理画面で同期させたいカレンダーのXML形式のURLを表示し、クリップボードにコピーしておく。次に「Thunderbird」または「Sunbird」上で、新しいカレンダーの作成ウィザードを呼び出し、同期対象として“Google Calendar”を指定しよう。あとは、先ほどコピーしておいた
