Elliotte Rusty Harold氏は1日(米国時間)、XOMの最新版となるXOM 1.1を公開した。XOM 1.1は新しいXMLオブジェクトモデル。データ処理の正確さ、簡単さ、高性能などを実現することを目的としたXMLを処理するツリーベースのAPI。XOM 1.0と後方互換性を保ちつつ、新しい機能を追加している。サポートしている機能はXML、XPath、XSLT、XInclude、xml:id、Canonical XMLをサポートなどで、DOM/SAXとの相互変換も可能。 XOM 1.1はGNU Lesser General Public License Version 2.1のもとオープンソースソフトウェアとして公開されている。とくにデュアルストリーミング/ツリーベースAPIとして設計されているという点において特徴的。個々のノードはドキュメントのビルド中であっても処理することが
