ロンドン暴動について、映像としてはショッキングなものなのでニュースにしやすいし、議論としては背景に社会格差や民族差別があると言うとさもそれらしく聞こえる。そこで思考停止になりかねないが、映像を見ているとただの無法な略奪にしか見えないし、もっともらしい議論は特段に英国なりロンドンを特定してはいない。 事件の発端は、ロンドン北部トットナムで4日、銃器犯罪の捜査中、警官が犯罪に関わると見られる黒人男性に発砲し射殺した事件だった。警官も1人負傷した。麻薬取引も関連していたらしい。そう聞けば、よくある事件にも思えるのだが、その後、この事件を人種偏見と見て抗議する集会もあった。それも特段に珍しいことでもない。そして？ 今朝の朝日新聞社説「英国の騒乱―なぜ暴力が横行したか」（参照）は、「騒乱のきっかけは、ロンドンで銃器犯罪を捜査中の警官による黒人男性への発砲事件だ。これを人種偏見と抗議する集会から暴動に
