農林水産省中小企業イノベーション創出推進事業の助成対象に、ゲノム編集を行う企業に対し「ニワトリ産業イノベーション：ゲノム編集を駆使したニワトリ鶏卵雌雄判別による資源有効活用とアニマルウェルフェア変革」についての補助が行われることが決定し5億3916万1000円が出されることとなっている。 2021年度には、京都大学の研究「孵卵早期の採卵鶏雌雄判定のための光散乱を克服する非破壊計測手法開発」に2587万円が挑戦的研究として出されていたが、2500万はとても少なく、例えばドイツが25億円ほどを調達する中、格安である。とくに光散乱法はゲノム編集という議論が多い方法よりも、より有望であり、世界的にも研究がなされているものに近い。イスラエルではゲノム編集を使った卵内雌雄鑑別法が開発されたが、やはり反論もあり、将来動物に対してどのような影響を与えるのかが計り知れない怖さがある。とくに日本政府はゲノム編
