初版作成:2002/10/20 目次 前書き 本題 後書き或いは感想 前書き 初心者の方なら一度は悩まされているか今も悩まされ続けていると思うんですが。Linuxって、(少なくともRHLとTLXS7, TLXW8の三種類のディストリビューションに関しては)インストール状態だと、 たとえばbashシェル上で変なキー(BackSpace押し続けたり)を押すと「ぴっ」ってブザーが鳴るんですよね。 これはサウンドカード云々じゃなくて、マザーボードにくっついている電子ブザー、或いはケースにくっついているスピーカをびっびこびっびこ鳴らしているわけです。 んで。初心者って結構エディタやらシェル上で打ち間違えをするのでその度に「ぴっぴっぴっぴっぴ・・・」。 要するに、凄いうるさいんです。 と言うわけで。今回のお題はずばり「ブザーの鳴らないLinuxマシンを作ろう」です。はい。 っつっても2,3
Fedora Projectは2007年11月8日(米国時間),無償で利用できるLinuxディストリビューションの新版「Fedora 8」(開発コード:Werewolf)を公開した(写真1)。特定用途向けの版(「Spins」と呼ばれる)の種類を増やし,オンライン・デスクトップ環境を追加したことが特徴である。 公開した版は,DVD-ROM版とライブCD版。それぞれ,対応CPUやSpinsごとに版が分かれている。対応CPUは,米Intel社の80386互換CPU(i386),Pentium ProやPentium M互換(686),米AMD社の64ビットCPU,米Intel社の64ビットCPU(x86_64),32/64ビットのPowerPC(ppc)。いずれの版も主要なシステム関連ソフトのバージョンは同じで,カーネル2.6.23.1,glibc 2.7,gcc 4.1.2,X.Orgを採用。
