OCLC、FASTに収録された160万件の件名データをLinked Dataとして公開
2011年12月14日、OCLC Researchが、FAST（Faceted Application of Subject Terminology）に収録された160万件の典拠データをLinked Data形式で公開開始しました。FASTは、米国議会図書館件名標目表（LCSH）を簡易なフォーマットで表現してウェブ上で利用しやすくしたものです。これに先だって、2011年11月にはFASTのデータを検索するためのインタフェース“searchFAST”が公開されています。なお、米国議会図書館（LC）は“Authorities & Vocabularies”というサービスを通して、2009年からLCSHをLinked Data形式で提供しています。 FAST Linked Data (OCLC) http://id.worldcat.org/fast/ searchFAST http://fas

図書館によるLinked Dataの活用へ向けたW3Cのグループの提言 2011年10月25日に，ウェブ技術の標準化を推進する団体W3C（World Wide Web Consortium）のLibrary Linked Dataインキュベーターグループが，図書館におけるLinked Data(CA1746参照)の活用に向けた最終報告書を公表した。同グループは，図書館データのウェブでの相互運用性の向上の支援を目的に，2010年5月から2011年8月まで設置されていたものである。なお，この報告書において“Library”という用語は博物館・美術館や文書館等も含む用語として使用されており，本稿においても，「図書館」をそのような意味で用いる。 報告書では，まず，Linked Data活用の利点が挙げられている。図書館組織にとっての利点としては，資料の詳細なデータを一機関で作成するのではなく複数の
