東日本大震災の津波で船が漂着した宮城県名取市の水田(2011年4月23日撮影)。(c)AFP/YASUYOSHI CHIBA 【8月8日 AFP】東京と大阪で8日、約72年ぶりにコメ先物取引が再開された。福島第1原発事故の影響によるコメ供給不足の懸念から買い注文が殺到し、東京では初値が付かなかった。 3月11日の東日本大震災から5か月、今も福島原発から放出され続けている放射性物質によって牛肉などさまざまな農産物が汚染されている。コメも放射能に汚染されているのではないかという消費者の不安が高まる中、昨年収穫されたコメを買いだめしている家庭も多い。一方、政府は放射性物質が検出されている地域にコメの放射性物質に関する検査を命じている。 日本のコメの先物取引は、世界に先駆け、江戸時代の1700年代初頭に始まった。しかし太平洋戦争前夜、食糧統制が厳格化される中で1939年にコメ先物取引は中止された。
