YListとは 「植物和名ー学名インデックス YList」（略称：YList）は、「施設に保存されている研究用植物のデータベース」（BG Plants）で用いられる植物名、特に、日本産植物の和名と学名に関する詳細情報の整備を目的として、2003年に米倉浩司（東北大学（現・（一財）沖縄美ら島財団総合研究センター）と梶田忠（東京大学〔現・琉球大学〕）を中心に作成されたものです。もとの正式名称は「BG Plants 和名−学名インデックス」であり、基本データ蓄積と入力が主に米倉浩司によって行われたため、通称、YList（"ワイリスト”）と呼ばれていました。2004年にBGPlantsプロジェクトが終了した後も、独立のプロジェクトとしてYListの維持と開発は続けられ、2007年4月に「植物和名ー学名インデックスYList」を正式名称とすることになりました（但し、これまでの経緯もあり、引用形式は「
