宮崎吾朗氏がスタジオ・ジブリと製作したアースシーの映画版、『ゲド戦記』に対するはじめての回答。 映画についてわたしに意見を送ってきた日本のファンと、興味を持つかもしれないそのほかのあらゆるファンのみなさんに向けて。 はじめに 映画スタジオが自著をどのように扱うか、口出しのできる作家はほとんどいません。一般に、契約書に署名してしまえば、著者はもう存在しないも同然です。「監修者」などの肩書きに意味はありません。ですから脚本作家以外の作家に、映画の出来についての責任を問わないでください。著者に「どうしてあの映画は……」と質問してもむだです。著者も「どうして？」と思っているのですから。 経過の概略 ２０年かそこら以前、宮崎駿氏から手紙で、（当時はまだ３巻までしか出ていなかった）アースシーをベースにしたアニメ映画を作りたいという意向が伝えられました。わたしは氏の作品を知りませんでした。知っていたのは
