2011/02/12 MPEG LAがVP8に対する特許プールの形成へ動く MPEG LAは、動画コーデック「VP8」の特許プールを形成するために、必須特許の募集を開始したと発表。最初の応募は3月18日まで受け付ける。VP8は、Googleがライセンスフリーで公開している動画フォーマット「WebM」に使われる動画コーデックで、2010年に2月に買収したOn2 Technologies社が開発したものである。MPEG LAは「VP8の仕様に必須の特許を持っていると考えられる組織は、MPEG LAの特許評価者による必須特許判定に応募できる。必須特許と認められれば、共同のVP8特許ライセンスの形成に参加し、ライセンス条件の決定に関与できる」としている。 投稿者 zubora 投稿時間 07:53 ラベル: Google, Software, Technology 0 コメント: コメントを投稿
