ITmediaの記事、CNETの記事、INTERNET Watchの記事などによれば、AdobeのコードネームApolloが、AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) として11日βリリースされた。当面、WindowsおよびMac OS Xの英語版のみだが、今後Linuxや他の言語への対応を予定している。AIRは、HTMLやAjax、あるいはFlashに対応し、クロスプラットフォームで動作する共通アプリケーションのランタイム。組込型ローカルデータベース「SQLite」も付いてくる。「AIR Software Developer's Kit」も同時公開。また、今後公開されるWebアプリケーション開発フレームワーク「Flex 3」ベータ版(オープンソース化!)とAIRを組み合わせることで、Webブラウザでもデスクトップでも動作するアプリケーションを開発できる。
