SREチームの橋本です。SRE連載の3月号となります。 Amazon ECSのコスト最適化においてはFargate Spotが有効な手段となりますが、いつ中断されるか分からない性質上、その監視も併せて実施していく必要があります。今回はそのFargate Spotを本番環境で運用しているプロジェクトにおける取り組みを紹介します。 背景 Fargate (Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate) を用いると負荷に合わせた容易なスケーリングが可能になる一方、このときCPU使用率の安全マージンや予測のブレなどにより、リソースがやや過剰になってしまうこともあります。 Fargate Spotの代表的なユースケースと言えばユーザーに露出しない開発環境ではないかと思いますが、このような場合にコストを考えると、タスクの中断をある程度許容しての本番環境でのFargate Spot運用も可能な選択

こんにちは、上野です。 少し前になりますが、Amazon GuardDutyがマルウェア対策機能に対応しましたね。 aws.amazon.com GuardDutyは、CloudTrail、VPCフローログ、DNSクエリログなどAWSが管理するログ情報を元に、AWSアカウント内の脅威を検知するサービスですが、マルウェア対策機能はユーザーが管理するEBS内のデータを対象に検知するので、少し従来とは観点が異なるなーと個人的には驚きでした。 今回は機能の概要とEventBridgeを使用した通知方法を紹介します。 マルウェア検知の仕組み GuardDutyはリアルタイムスキャンや定期タイムスキャンを実行するわけではなく、特定の既存Findingsを検知したタイミングで、マルウェアスキャンを実行します。トリガーとなるFindingsはドキュメントに記載されています。 トリガーとなるFindings

はじめに AWS IAMのアクセスアドバイザーでアクションレベルでの「最終アクセス日時」が確認できるサービス数は、140以上に増えました。 IAMのアクセスアドバイザーとは、IAMエンティティ（ユーザー、ロール、グループなど）が、AWSサービスごとの最終アクセス日時や、アクセス可能なAWSサービスを確認できる機能です。 従来は、IAMやLambda、S3、EC2などの一部のAWSサービス数のみ、アクションレベルで「最終アクセス日時」が確認できていました。 以前も以下の記事のようにアップデートがありました。 今回のアップデートでは、140以上のAWSサービスを対象に、アクションレベルで「最終アクセス日時」が確認できるようになりました。 これによって、IAMロールに指定された権限が実際に必要かどうかを判断し、不必要な権限を削除することで、IAMのベストプラクティスである「最小権限の原則」の実現
