2015年5月22日に開催された「第３回プログラマのための数学勉強会」で、今回も発表してきました。 発表の様子（写真は馬場彩さまに撮影いただきました） 第３回のテーマには「ガロア理論」を選びました。特に、ガロアの論文の主題だった「五次方程式はなぜ解けないのか？」というポイントに絞ってお話ししました。この辺は、話だけは聞いたことあるけど、詳しい仕組みは分からない、という方も多いのではないでしょうか。 準備中に気づいて驚いたのですが、実は今日５月３１日は「エヴァリスト・ガロア」の命日です。ガロアが決闘で敗れ息を引き取ったとされる、あの日なのです。死の直前、弟のアルフレッドに向かって言ったとされる、ガロアの名言が思い起こされます。 「泣くな！20歳で死ぬにはあらん限りの勇気が必要なんだ！」 こんな日にガロアについて書けるなんて、なんとも感慨深いものがありますね。 数学勉強会の情報まとめ 勉強会の
