今日のイギリス南部は朝から曇りがちでして、いまにも雨が降りそうな雰囲気が続いております。相変わらず外は寒いですね。 さて、また最近考えていることについて少し。 ちょっと学術的な論文を書いたことのある方だったら経験があると思うのですが、最近私がクラスメートや知り合いの学者などと話をしたり、アメリカやイギリスでの政治ディベートなどを見てつくづく感じていることが「思考停止」についてです。 一般的に「思考停止」というのは（当たり前ですが）アカデミック界ではネガティブにとらえられておりまして、こっちのディベートでも「あいつの考えはシンプルすぎる」なんていうコメントは「思考停止」という意味合いとともに、かなり批判の対象になります。 この辺のニュアンスを政治面でネガティブにとらえたものとして有名な本としては『アメリカの反知性主義』（リチャード ホーフスタッター／ Richard Hofstadter）と
