東日本大震災アーカイブの利活用と参加型アプローチ<報告> 2013年1月24日と25日,米国のハーバード大学において国際会議「参加型デジタルアーカイブの機会と挑戦:東日本大震災からの教訓」が開催され,両日共に100名程度の参加があった。国立国会図書館(NDL)からは「東日本大震災アーカイブ構築プロジェクト」担当として筆者が出席し,報告を行なった。 東日本大震災の記憶・教訓を後世へ残していこうとする「東日本大震災アーカイブ」と呼ばれる活動が官民さまざまな機関により行われており(E1279参照),この活動をテーマとしたイベントも各地で開催されてきた(E1258,E1275,E1375参照)。今回の会議では,東日本大震災を含む世界の主要な出来事をテーマとしたデジタルアーカイブが紹介されるとともに,ソーシャルメディア等を活用したユーザ参加型アプローチの可能性や課題,アーカイブの利活用等をテーマに発
米国のコーネル大学図書館が、全米人文科学基金(NEH)から30万ドルの助成を受けて、デジタル情報の長期保存のための枠組みの開発に乗り出しました。このプロジェクトでは、2002年に誕生した同館のRose Goldsen Archive of New Media Artが試験台として用いられます。同アーカイブは、1991年以降の数千点のメディアアートを保存しており、その保存媒体は、ビデオテープ、CD、DVDなどの物理的媒体からインターネット上のボーンデジタルのものまで様々、となっています。なお、30万ドルという助成額は全米でも今年最大規模のものであるということです。 Recording Our History as a Digital Society(Cornell University Library 2013/2/19付けニュース) http://news.library.cornell.
