The article deals with the perception of Oda Nobunaga (1534 – 1582), one of the Three Unifiers of Japan, and patron of the Jesuit missions, in the anti-Christian narratives of the Edo period (1603 – 1867). It shows that in the 17th – 18th c. there were two groups of sources regarding his depiction. The first group consisted of books such as Kirishitan yurai ki, Kirishitan monogatari and Yaso seiba
