Folksonomy も結局「信用ベース」になりそう 2005-02-18-3 [Folksonomy] Folksonomy = folks + taxonomy。 利用者が対象(URLや写真)に「タグ」というカテゴリ名みたいものを付 与して、それを利用者が共有する。利用者がカテゴリ分けを行うという 「草の根分類手法」かと。タグを用いたよく知られたサービスとして del.icio.us, flickr, はてなブックマークなどがある。 とはいえ、タグspamにどう対処するんだろう。いまさら指摘するまでもな いだろうけど、一般的なタグ(キーワード)はすぐに汚染されそう。あさ ましい人ならこれを利用して広告を出すよなあ。ほっとけば HTML の META タグと同じ運命をたどりそう。 今後どのように展開していくのか観察していきたい。信用できる人がつけ たタグだけ利用するとか、ソーシャルネット

会社で「folksonomy」についてブレストして遊ぶらしいので、folksonomyが登場した背景について考えながらメモ。 だれが情報を分類するか? Grassroots Cooperative Categorization Of Digital Content Assets: Folksonomies, What They Are, Why They Workに曰く。 以下おれの理解によるメモ。 専門家による分類/定義 やり方:情報の分類に詳しい人が「この情報は○○です」と決める。 利点:高品質 欠点:高コスト(分類する能力がある人は希少) 普及の経緯:インターネット普及以前は、分類すべき対象が有限だったので(例:図書館)デューイ10進分類など、専門的技法を身につけることで有益な分類が可能であった。 例えば:Yahooなど、人力によって選定分類するディレクトリ型検索エンジン 書き手によ
ソーシャルブックマークサービス「はてなブックマーク」は、(他のサービスにも採り入れられているように)ユーザが任意に「タグ」をつけて各エントリが分類していく仕組みになっています。 タグ同士の関連性を眺めていくことで、どの分野がどんなふうに他分野に絡んでいるか、どんな盛り上がり方をしているのかがわかる「最近の情報の地図」のようなものがあれば面白いだろうなということで調べてみました。 ■しらべた人 : ごうだまりぽ [ 本拠地 "硝子の円錐" / weblog "光の円錐" / いつのまにか代表作 "1024人応援団" ] ふと思い立ってデータをとったのは2006年11月26日です。最近の時事ネタが強烈に反映されている部分があるかもしれません。 はてなブックマークのタグ一覧に載っかっていたものについてしらべてあります。 むずかしい数式は使ってません。タグごとの「注目エントリ」のオモテに出てきて
米LeapTagは4月16日、ニュースリーダーとWebコンテンツディスカバリーツールを組み合わせた「LeapTag」のパブリックβ版をリリースしたと発表した。Webサイトから無料ダウンロードできる。LeapTagはブラウザのツールバーで動作する。 関心のある分野別にタグを作成、訪問したサイトや検索結果について投票すると、LeapTagはこのフィードバックに基づいて、利用者がより関心を持つサイトを厳選し、推薦してくれるようになる。求める情報を探すのに、数多くの検索結果から必要なものだけをふるい出すのは大変な作業だが、ユーザーの投票や登録したブックマークに基づいて、これを代行してくれるのがLeapTagだという。 LeapTagにはRSSインポート機能があり、Bloglines、Google Reader、NewsGatorなどのRSSリーダーに登録してあるRSSフィードをインポートし、関心分

9割型のソーシャルタギング・サービスが、ユーザーインターフェースの模索をほとんどせずに、サービスの再生産をしているのは如何なものかと。 とか思ってみる。 例えばタグ分布の可視化を例にしてみると、はてな、del.icio.us, Technorati, Flickerと、まったく代わり映えがしない。あえて言うならば、Snippy(要招待)が面積比を使おうとしていたり、それ以前にflogが開き直ってタグを捨てたりしている程度である。 タグの可視化などサービスの本筋とは関係がない、と言ってしまえばそれまでだが、本質でないならばなおさらに有名サイトをマネするのではなく、むしろ積極的に情報デザインの実験の場にしてもよいはずだ。 例えば下の例は、サイズの代わりに背景の明度でタグのポピュラリティーを可視化したものだ。サイズ変化の手法では、最もポピュラーなタグは発見しやすいものの、サイズのせいで文字のベー
フォークソノミーについての雑記。つれづれなるままに。 del.icio.usのタグ一覧や、flickrのタグ一覧,Technoratiのタグ一覧を見てて、「カワイイ」、「カッコいい」、「便利」といった主観的なタグが予想よりも遥かに少ないのに驚いた。あるいは形容詞タグというのは表現が多様すぎてロングテールの誤差の中に埋まっているのだろうか。 タグが話題になった当初は、frickrなどではより主観的なタグが主流となり、タグがそのまま「物事を言及する為の語彙」を可視化するかな?と思っていたのだけど、そういう風にはいっていないみたいだ。flickrと他のサービスの最も大きな違いは、即物的なタグと共に、地域と時間という2つの情報が主軸になってることのようだ。ここまで偏るなら時間と位置はタグから切り離してしまったほうが良い気もする。ひょっとしたらgoogle mapsと連動させた地理ベースの写真共有サ
