On Friday, an explosion ripped through the Foxconn Chengdu plant in China, the factory where the Apple iPad 2 is made. The amount of damage caused by the explosion isn't clear yet, but there were reports that two people were killed and 16 injured. Color Splash [iTunes link] is one such popular app. Since its release in February 2009, Color Splash has continually been among the top 10 best-selling iPhone photography apps in the U.S. It has consistently been in the top 100 best selling apps for most of that time as well. Further, it was selected by Apple as one of just 50 apps to grace its App Store Hall of Fame [iTunes link]. We got in touch
When Stefanie Gordon boarded her plane in New York City to visit her parents in Palm Beach, the captain noted there was a chance passengers would witness the space shuttle Endeavour's last launch during the flight. But she never expected to play a role in documenting it. As the plane descended toward Palm Beach and the Endeavour's launch became visible, Gordon pulled out her iPhone and snapped a f
When we look at TV ratings, it's almost always in the context of what programs have the most viewers. Historically, this is a useful metric for advertisers, but as traditional television viewership (and even ownership) continues to decline, it's more important to track users' engagement with programming, especially across social sites. The iPad 2 went on sale in China on Friday. And as in the rest of the world, the device is a hit. The Beijing Apple Store sold out in just four hours. Apple Insider reports that customers started arriving at 5 p.m. Thursday -- and many chose to wait overnight. The staff at the Beijing Apple Store had the launch-day process down pat, thanks no doubt to the experience of previous launches of devices

MacRumors reports that one of its readers sent an email to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, asking for clarification and explanations regarding the "consolidated.db" file built into iOS.
