Thermodynamics is a branch of physics that offers systematic approaches to analysing thermodynamic phenomena. Despite its success, its mathematical description is expected to be clearer. To formulate thermodynamics in the language of sophisticated mathematics, thermodynamics is described by a variety of differential geometries, including contact and information geometries. Meanwhile, affine geomet

A. Takeuchi showed that the negative logarithm of the Fubini-Study boundary distance function of pseudoconvex domains in the complex projective space CPn, n ∈ N, is strictly plurisubharmonic and solved the Levi problem for CPn. His estimate from below of the Levi form is nowadays called the ‘Takeuchi's inequality.' In this paper, we give the ‘Takeuchi's equality,' i.e. an explicit representation o

Posted on April 6, 2014 topology, neural networks, deep learning, manifold hypothesis Recently, there’s been a great deal of excitement and interest in deep neural networks because they’ve achieved breakthrough results in areas such as computer vision.1 However, there remain a number of concerns about them. One is that it can be quite challenging to understand what a neural network is really doing
Geometric Deep Learning is an attempt for geometric unification of a broad class of ML problems from the perspectives of symmetry and invariance. These principles not only underlie the breakthrough performance of convolutional neural networks and the recent success of graph neural networks but also provide a principled…
