「海外の優秀な人材の活用を阻む、移民法が緩和されたとしたら、米国に大きな前進がもたらされるかもしれない」そう語るのは、インキュベータ組織、Founder Instituteの創設者、アデオ・レッシだ。同組織は世界中の支部から熱意ある起業家を集めて起業を支援する団体として知られている。レッシによれば、ホワイトハウスの代表が今年1月にパロアルトの彼の事務所を訪問。移民法を緩和する大統領命令に、オバマ大統領が年内に署名するかもしれない、と明かしたという。「その内容は、適正と認められる米国人投資家から20万ドルを調達すれば、2年間の起業ビザを取得できるというもの。さらに、75万ドル以上を調達すれば、永住権を得られる」また、Founder Instituteは「米国人の起業支援者が承認した外国人起業家に、9か月間のアメリカ滞在ビザを発行する案」も提案した。現在はその返事を心待ちにしているとい
