With regards to the latest OpenSSL Vulnerabilities announcement CVE-2016-2108 CVE-2016-2107 When can we expect this to be reflected as part of the Centos YUM updates? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1331426#c9 OpenSSL https://www.openssl.org/news/vulnerabilities.html Kind Regards John Pritchard Redhat have not yet released patches for RHEL and there is no communication between RH and C
When can we expect updated packages for OpenSSL (i.e. 0.9.8za, 1.0.0m, 1.0.1h) to be available from yum? The CentOS 6 packages are already available and should be on the mirrors now. If you do not see them then run yum clean metadata and retry the update. The CentOS 5 packages are taking a bit longer to build and will be available soon (for some definition of soon). As usual the version numbers st
I'm not sure exactly how these requests are made. Openssl in recent versions of Centos is completely compromised (see heartbleed.com). Version 1.0.1g has the fix. I compiled a package for it, but of course I would need the build environment for the rest of the packages on the system to make it work properly and would take me days to figure out. Can we get a 1.0.1g version of openssl in the repo?

Routing will be configured on routing devices, therefore it should not be necessary to configure static routes on Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers or clients. However, if static routes are required they can be configured for each interface. This can be useful if you have multiple interfaces in different subnets. Use the route command to display the IP routing table. Static route configuration is s

I've search all over the site, and haven't seen how to pronounce "CentOS". I've drawn up a couple possibilities: sent - ohh - ess sent - oss see - ent - ohh - ess see - ent - oss I'd like to see this stated somewhere
Hi, I'm trying to install TrueCrypt on my Centos 4 computer with kernel version 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL-i686. Since they didn't have a specific rpm package for centos, I downloaded the source code, and attempted to install using the build.sh script. During installation, the script asks for the location of the source of the kernel, which I eventually found (/usr/src/kernels), but then it responds: "Error:

The CentOS Project has developed a GeoIP® enabled system for our CentOS-4 yum updates that generates dynamic mirror lists based on two very important items: 1. The connecting location of the client. 2. The current freshness/staleness of the mirrors for that region. This update system will allow us to read the connecting location of a client, look for fresh mirrors close to that client, and provide
