On this day in 1920, Oxford University passed a statute admitting women to degree programmes. Women had been allowed to take examinations at Oxford since 1883. In 1892 Grace Chisholm took the exam for the Final Honours School in mathematics (as an unofficial candidate) and out-performed all the Oxford students. On this day in 2018 Google released a Nightingale doodle (a day early).
