For accessing ODBC data sources from the Ruby language, I borrowed ideas from the MySQL Ruby API by Tomita Masahiro, the Ruby extension for PostgreSQL by Yukuhiro Matsumoto, Eiji Matsumoto, and Noboru Saitou, the tclodbc package by Roy Nurmi, Tom Poindexter, and Rob Savoye, the draft DBI specification by Michael Neumann, and started to write a Ruby extension module. The SQLite Database Engine provides a lightweight C library to access database files using a large subset of SQL92 without the overhead of RDBMS server processes. In order to use that functionality as a desktop database I wrapped the SQLite library into an ODBC driver. So far it has been tested with SQLite 2.8.17 and SQLite 3.43.2 on Windows (>= NT/2000) in MS Excel 97 (MSQUERY) with SQLite databa

This is a Java wrapper including a basic JDBC driver for the SQLite 2/3 database engine. It is designed using JNI to interface to the SQLite API. That API is wrapped by methods in the SQLite.Database class. Since June, 2002, it includes a small JDBC driver, which allows the most basic things to be carried out using the java.sql package. Since September, 2004, SQLite3 (minimum 3.0.7) is supported.
