However, sometimes you legitimately need to make a breaking change to your API even though it’s hit production. Here’s what you need to know to not have a bad time: Go Version Bumping Cheat Sheet Update the package name in go.mod to have a /v2 (or /v3, v4, etc) suffix, and commit it.
