共用リーダーライターのイメージ NTTドコモとJR東日本は、クレジットブランド「iD」と「Suica電子マネー」など、複数の決済サービス対応の共通インフラを運営する有限責任事業組合(LLP)を設立すると発表した。 新たに設立されるLLPでは、iDやSuicaなどの決済サービスに対応する共通のリーダーライターおよびセンター設備を運営する。両社では昨年7月28日に「クレジットサービスとSuicaに対応する共通インフラの構築に向けて共同事業を行なう」と発表していたが、今回、その具体的な運用形態が示された形となる。 共用インフラのメリットについて、ドコモでは「FeliCa対応の決済サービスを導入する店舗にとって、1台のリーダーライターで複数の決済サービスに対応でき、設置スペースや導入コストといった負担が軽くなる。エンドユーザーにとっても利便性が向上する」と説明している。 両社によるLLPは10月を
