「CeBIT 2006」では、「Das Jahrhundert des Computers(コンピュータの世紀)」と題して、歴代の有名コンピュータを展示している。 地元ドイツのZuse KG社が開発した「Z25」をはじめ、DECの「PDP 8」、Commodoreの「PET 2001」、Tandy Radio Shackの「TRS 80」、Appleの「Apple IIe」などが展示されている。このほか1980年代に名を馳せたCommodoreの「Amiga 1000」、Atariの「1040 ST」、PHILLIPSのMSX「VG-8235」などの姿もあった。 このほか、1950年代以降のプロセッサやHDDなどの外部記憶装置を展示している。
米Apple Computerは、同社のジュークボックスソフト「iTunes」を活用して、各大学のオリジナルコンテンツなどを配信する「iTunes U」の開設をアナウンスした。ユーザーが自由に好みの大学のコンテンツを入手可能となり、今後のライブラリの充実が期待される。 すでに同社は、スタンフォード大学(Stanford University)、デューク大学(Duke University)、オハイオ州立大学(Ohio State University)、ペンシルバニア州立大学(Penn State University)、ミズーリ大学ジャーナリズム学部(Missouri School of Journalism)と、大学教育における技術活用などを進める共同研究グループ「Apple Digital Campus Initiative」を2004年に設立したとされる。 このうちスタンフォード大
